Benefits of Joint Replacement Therapy

What to Expect

Patients will start physical therapy immediately following their surgery in the hospital. Treatment often includes gentle motion in the replaced joint’s surrounding areas and progressing from a walker to a cane. All joint replacements will initially focus on regaining normalized motion and strength. Your physical therapist will also provide guidance on any therapy restrictions you may have.
